Bunker-42 Museum at Taganka
A truly unique museum 65 metres underground. It was built in the 1950s as a secret command centre to be used in case of a nuclear attack.
Here you can feel the atmosphere of the Cold War: you walk through narrow corridors and see old military equipment and command rooms from that era.
The most memorable part is an interactive show that recreates the moment a nuclear war begins, with sound and light effects you will not forget.
The museum offers several programs, from regular guided tours to special programs and interactive experiences.
The main tour:
- Duration: 1 hour 25 minutes
- Descent to 65 metres underground
- Stairs down and up (there is no lift)
On the tour you will:
- Visit Block 4, which housed the reserve command post
- Walk through halls recreating the Soviet era
- Pass through the technical tunnels of Block 3 with its life-support systems
- Take part in two exclusive special-effects experiences
- Price: $60
