Kuskovo Palace and Museum
Kuskovo is one of the most beautiful historic estates in Moscow. It was the summer residence of the Sheremetev family, one of Russia's most famous noble families.
The estate was built in the 18th century to receive guests and host concerts and theatre performances. Thanks to its large French gardens and luxurious architecture it was known as the "Moscow Versailles".
What can you see at Kuskovo?
- The main palace overlooking the lake, which has kept its original 18th-century design
- The famous Grotto, decorated with rare sea shells
- The Dutch House and the Italian House — two of the estate's most beautiful buildings
- The formal French garden with statues and fountains
- The big lake that reflects the palace façade — wonderful for photos
